RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This request is for authorization of a lease agreement between Anthemnet, Inc. and the City of McKinney to allow a stealth telecommunications structure upon City of McKinney property.
• The provisions of the lease are as follows:
o The lease of ~ 2500 s.f. of land
o Initial term of 5 years with an extension option of nine additional 5-year terms
o $1,666.67 monthly rent payment
o Tower may not exceed 120’ in height
• In a concurrent agenda item, the Council will also be considering approval of a Specific Use Permit to allow the use of the tower.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• This +/- 4-acre tract is owned by the City of McKinney, and was originally purchased to expand the Stars Center.
• With no current plans to expand the Center, the land is intended to be used by the Parks Department to include uses supportive of the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch, which is immediately east of this land.
• The location of the proposed tower does not impact any current or planned uses of the land.
