ITEM SUMMARY:
• McKinney Rotary Club Foundation is requesting $15,000 for the advertising, marketing, and promotion of the 2026 Parade of Lights Event.
• Event date is December 12, 2026, and will take place between Finch Park and the Historic Downtown McKinney.
• Expected attendance is at least 40,000, with 35% from outside of McKinney.
• Request represents 100% of total promotional budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• McKinney Rotary Club Foundation has served the community for more than 90 years, sponsoring numerous scholarships and charities in the McKinney community.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 26 is $250,000, with $125,470 remaining and available for Cycle II applicants.
• MCDC awarded a Promotional and Community Event grant to The Rotary Club Foundation in the amount of $7,500 for the advertising, marketing and promotions of the 2025 Parade of Lights.
