RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     
•                     Appoint a new member to the Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB)
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
•                     Current HPAB Member Peter Bailey is unable to continue service to the board due to health reasons
•                     Mr. Bailey has been absent from scheduled meetings since November 2018
•                     Mr. Bailey has served multiple terms on the Historic Preservation and Parks & Recreation advisory boards over the past decade
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
•                     The HPAB consists of seven members appointed by City Council who are McKinney citizens with known or demonstrated interest, competence, or knowledge of historic preservation
•                     As possible, the board should include an architect; city planner or representative of a design profession; historian; licensed real estate broker; attorney; and property owner of a landmark or of a building in a historic district
•                     The role of the board includes determinations and recommendations concerning historic landmarks; use of funds to promote preservation; and support of public awareness and participation in education programs 
•                     The board meets monthly as required to conduct pertinent business
