ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Art Club of McKinney is requesting $4,200 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of the 2023-24 season to include one student show, one member show and an Art Meets Poetry show.
• Dates for the events are October 27-28, 2023 (Student Show), February 3-5, 2024 (Art Meets Poetry), and March 15-16, 2024 (Member Show).
• All shows are held at The Cove in McKinney with an encore planned at Filtered for Art Meets Poetry.
• Each show draws visitors from the DFW area plus some traveling from out-of-state to see specific artists’ works.
• Admission to each show is free, and total attendees for all three shows is historically about 600.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 23 is $200,000 -- $100,000 for Cycle I applicants and $100,000 for Cycle II applicants.
• Actual total grant funds available for Cycle II are $131,458. This includes reappropriations of unspent funds from FY 2022.
• The Art Club has not received grant funding from MCDC in at least the last 10 years.
