RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution to accept and implement the grant (if awarded) to fund the capability to enhance the Protection of Soft Targets/Crowded Places.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The UASI program focuses to support state and local efforts to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events and to prepare the nation for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to our security.

                     This project will address the National Priority Area for Enhancing the Protection of Soft Targets/Crowded/ Places.

                     Funds from this grant project, if awarded, will be used to Acquire collapse response equipment to stabilize compromised structures and unstable ground prior to initiating rescue operations.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The UASI program grand award bas been sough annually by the City of McKinney to help prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural, man-made, and technological threats and hazards.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The total grant amount requested is $126,000.00. There is no required match.
