RECOMMENDED ACTION:
The City Council and MEDC Board of Directors shall receive an update on the MEDC’s strategic planning status. No formal action requested.
ITEM SUMMARY:
The MEDC and representatives from Newmark, the project consultant, will provide an update on the MEDC Strategic Plan's development. The Strategic Plan update will provide a foundational understanding of McKinney’s current economic landscape, outline future growth opportunities, and ultimately offer recommendations for consideration. The final document will be completed over the coming months.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• MEDC’s current Strategic Plan was adopted in 2023.
• After three years, it is important to assess the economic landscape to determine which activities are proving successful and what new opportunities may be worth pursuing.
• This project is led by our consultant, Newmark, who was hired earlier this year.
