RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance will modify the effective reduced speed school zone times to reflect the changes proposed for the Melissa ISD schedules.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Melissa ISD has adjusted the school schedules to allow more time for buses to travel between schools, creating a three-tier system.
• Melissa ISD only has an elementary school in McKinney. The new Melissa ISD elementary school time is 8:25 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.
• The effective times for the reduced speed school zones will be changed to reflect the new school schedules.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for the signage necessary to reflect the new school times is in the Engineering operating budget.
