RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with A&C Construction, Inc. of Irving, Texas for the construction of the Wattley Park Improvements project (PK 1831) for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,152,000.
City staff worked with Dunaway LP. on preparing the construction plans and specifications as needed for project bidding.
Staff, along with Dunaway LP. support, recommends awarding the construction bid to A&C Construction, Inc. in an amount of $2,049,500 along with a $102,500 contingency for a total not to exceed amount of $2,152,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Dunaway LP completed the design of these improvements in 2023.
Full renovation of Wattley Park includes walking paths around the park with new pavilions, new play equipment and a new basketball court.
This project will follow the Wattley Park Stream Bank Stabilization Project (DR2118).
The City issued a Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (26-64CSP) to solicit responses from qualified contractors for the Construction of Wattley Park Improvements.
