COUNCIL GOAL:                     Maximize the Development Potential of McKinney National Airport
•                     3.1:  Implement initiatives and strategies, including public-private partnerships, to attract and expand corporate and commercial aviation including the viability of passenger service.
 
•                     3.2: Identify and implement land use regulations and policies which preserve and expand long-term operational excellence.

RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve Resolution
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
•                     The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a grant agreement with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for McKinney National Airport Project AI2114, Taxilane A Rehabilitation and Construction, Phase II.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
•                     The proposed scope of work for Phase II will consist primarily of:
o                     Rehabilitation of the southern portion of Taxilane A
o                     The construction of Taxiway A4
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
•                     Texas Department of Transportation will provide funding for Phase II in the amount of $7,000,000. The City of McKinney will be responsible for a match of $1,500,000. 
•                     Additionally, the City of McKinney is responsible for 100% of the design costs not to exceed $449,800. 
•                     Funding for the City of McKinney’s match is appropriated in the Capital Improvement Program Project AI2114, Taxilane A Rehabilitation & Construction.
•                     A budget amendment to increase grant funds in project AI2114, Taxilane A Rehabilitation and Construction, Phase II, is presented as a companion item on this agenda.
