RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Appoint an Alternate member to Visit McKinney Board for a partial term effective this date until September 30, 2027.

• Appointing an Alternate member to this board will fill all seats on this board for the 2026-27 operating year, beginning October 1, 2026.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On August 25, 2026, the City Council appointed members to the Visit McKinney Board, leaving one seat vacant for additional consideration.
• Pursuant to City Ordinances, Chapter 106, the McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureau, doing business as Visit McKinney, is a non-profit corporation utilized by the city to increase and encourage tourism and tourism-related business in the city.
• The Visit McKinney Board consists of seven (7) Regular Members and one (1) Alternate, each appointed by the City Council, of which a majority must be residents of the city. Non-resident members must be employed or have their primary business within the city.
• The City Council shall strive to appoint members with knowledge and experience in business sectors including but not limited to hotel / motel / lodging, sales, travel, marketing, restaurants, technology, event planning, and sports.
