ITEM SUMMARY:
• Renewal of the annual School Resource Officer agreement with McKinney Independent School District (MISD) for the 2026-2027 School Year.
• 12 Officers are currently dedicated to MISD, and the unit is overseen by 2 Sergeants
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney provides School Resource Officers (SROs) to the McKinney Independent School District (MISD).
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MISD shall pay CITY the sum of $1,104,049 for the twelve (12) months for services rendered. This payment is for 50% of twelve (12) certified officers at pay step 7 and 100% for one (1) sergeant at pay step 4 provided by the CITY.
• Funding for the remainder of the salaries, benefits, and operational expenses for the officers is allocated in the Police Department Budget.
