RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $225,000, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the Lower 5 Plaza Park Improvements Project (CIP Project PK2234), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $250,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The FY24 Capital Improvement Plan budget includes funding under CIP Project PK2234 for the conceptual park layout related to the Lower 5 Plaza located at State Highway 5 (SH 5) between Virginia Street and Louisiana Street.
* On April 18, 2023, City's engineering staff presented an update at the City Council Work Session meeting on the SH 5 Downtown Pedestrian Connection Feasibility Study and City Council provided direction to move forward with the Inverted Deck Park currently referred to as the 'Lower 5 Plaza'.
* The park improvements for the Lower 5 Plaza under this contract generally include:
o Park conceptual Layouts
o Public Engagement
