ITEM SUMMARY:
* These proposed improvements will complete the Dog Park and Play Zone of the Towne Lake Master Plan, converting the land between the Senior Recreation Center and Grady Littlejohn Sports Complex into dedicated areas for large and small dog play spaces, each featuring an agility course and a centrally located dog splash pad. Additionally, the project will include a parking lot, a food truck area, restrooms, a pavilion with seating, a championship horseshoe course, and two sand volleyball courts. It will also feature hike and bike trails with covered seating along the paths, a pedestrian bridge, and lighting throughout the park.
* On May 28, 2026, the City of McKinney received bids for this project
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* LJA Engineering completed the design of these improvements and the Towne Lake Master Plan.
* A&C Construction, Inc., completed the Wilson Creek Trail Project and recently awarded the construction contract for the Erwin Park Improvements.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* This project (PK4393) is a FY25-26 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC, Parkland Dedication, and Bonds.
