RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution and Agreement
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with DFW Airport to provide Aircraft Rescue and Firefighter Training (ARFF) consistent with FAA requirements.
• This Interlocal Agreement will become effective immediately upon its signing, and continue indefinitely until terminated by one of the parties.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The McKinney Fire Department provides emergency response as needed for aircraft in and around McKinney National Airport and Aero Country Airport.
• DFW Airport Department of Public Safety is the only FAA-recognized provider for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training in the vicinity that meets the needs of the MFD for initial ARFF certification and aircraft live fire training.
• This Agreement is required for participation in the training activities.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Training fees and costs will be provided through the established MFD operational budget, 001-3224-423.85-06.
