ITEM SUMMARY:
· Beginning in 2008, the City of McKinney Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) established the Preserve Historic McKinney - Home Recognition Program to recognize property owners who are helping to revitalize our historic residential community by making significant exterior improvements to their individual properties.
· This program is not a grant or funding program. It simply recognizes the outstanding efforts of individual property owners and seeks to encourage future individual reinvestment in the historic residential community.
· Between October 2008 and January 2009, McKinney residents were asked to identify and nominate any residential properties located in the Historic Neighborhood Improvement Zone that meet the general evaluation criteria outlined in the attached document.
· In April 2009, the HPAB reviewed all of the nominations and selected 14 properties to be recognized in the promotional calendar.
