ITEM SUMMARY:
* On July 16, 2024, the City Council approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with Garver, LLC for McKinney National Airport Project AI2250, East Side Development and Infrastructure.
* This work session presentation will discuss design progress on the following three components of the project:
o A new Taxiway "Charlie" on the east side of the runway and associated taxiways providing access to available airport property.
o A new roundabout that will provide vehicular access into the property from FM 546.
o A proposed site overview including a terminal building, with associated parking, ramp space, fuel farm, entry driveways, stormwater detention, and necessary underground infrastructure.
* Project timelines will be discussed for completion of design and transitioning to construction phase.
* Project costs and proposed funding mechanisms will also be discussed.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Garver, LLC, currently serving as the City's engineer of record for McKinney National Airport, was selected through a formal Request for Qualifications (RFQ) selection process, and the scope of this project falls within the RFQ criteria.
* The proposed scope of work includes project administration, surveying services, geotechnical services, design services, and bidding services for the construction of the development on the east side of McKinney National Airport.
