ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The Heritage Guild of Collin County is requesting $15,000 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of 2026 events at Chestnut Square including Farmers Market, MRT Radio Show Collaboration, Trolley Tours, Village Tours, Tea and Tours, Ghostly Hauntings, Holiday at the Square events, and Holiday Tour of Homes.

                     Request represents 80% of total promotional budget.

                     The events will be held during the time period from July through December 2026 at Chestnut Square.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission of Heritage Guild of Collin County (HGCC) is to celebrate community, preserve history and inspire the future.

                     HGCC was organized more than 45 years ago.

                     HGCC supports Chestnut Square Historic Village - a McKinney museum and tourist destination offering diverse programs and activities throughout the year.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 26 is $250,000, with $125,470 remaining and available for Cycle II applicants.

                     MCDC awarded Promotional and Community Event grants to Heritage Guild of Collin County totaling $13,000 in Cycle 1 of FY 26 for events at Chestnut Square from January through June, 2026.
