RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION:
* Staff recommends approval of requested TIRZ 1 funding for Chestnut 0.5 MG Elevated Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project (CIP Project WA2240)

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The City is requesting TIRZ 1 funding for the Chestnut 0.5 MG Elevated Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project (CIP Project WA2240).

* As proposed, the applicant is requesting three (3) Options for funding from TIRZ 1 funding as follows:

o Option 1 funding request is for $725,000 for the complete rehabilitation project.

o Option 2 funding request is for $500,000 for a reduced project scope which will remove the Leg Column RGBW Lighting.

o Option 3 funding request is for $0 for a further reduced project scope that will remove the Leg Column RGBW Lighting, Site Work, Landscaping, and Irrigation.

* The existing 0.5 Million Gallons (MG) Chestnut Tank located near the general area of the Northwest corner of South Chestnut Street and East Davis Street formerly served the 794 pressure plane of the City's water distribution system from 1952 until the tank was taken out of service by the Public Works Department on March 5, 2003.
* Since the elevated storage tank was taken out of service in 2003, it has remained in use for various cellular providers (per existing leases) as well as an iconic structure in the Historic Downtown McKinney area.
