RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

  • Receive citizen input on the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Budget.

  • ITEM SUMMARY:
  • City Council and the City Manager’s Office are seeking to provide more opportunities for citizen input in the budget process
  • This item is the first opportunity during the fiscal year for citizens to be involved in the budgeting process.
  • Council will receive citizen input relating to the FY 2027 Budget.

  • SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Budget Discussions - Budget planning and tax discussions will be held on August 4, 2026, August 7, 2026, August 18, 2026, and September 1, 2026.
  • Budget Ordinance - Public hearing and vote to adopt the annual budget will be held on September 1, 2026.
  • Ordinance levying property tax rate - Vote to adopt the ordinance levying the property tax rate will be held on September 1, 2026.
  • Ordinance changing rates/fees for City services - Adoption will be held on September 1, 2026.
