RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This project is designated as a 2009-2010 Council/Management Priority.
· In response to the North Central Texas Council of Governments 2009-2010 Sustainable Development Call for Projects, Staff submitted a planning project grant application for the State Highway 5 Corridor Planning Study in October 2009.
· On June 3, 2010, the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) approved $125,000 in RTC local funds for the State Highway 5 Corridor Planning Study.
· The Resolution formally supports the State Highway 5 Corridor Planning Study Sustainable Development Grant and authorizes the City Manager to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
· Assuming that an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement can be negotiated and executed relatively quickly, Staff will then coordinate with NCTCOG Staff to finalize a Scope of Work and initiate the procurement process to secure professional consultant services.
· Staff anticipates substantial completion of the project during FY 2010-2011.
