ITEM SUMMARY:
* McKinney Community Development Corporation board members will act on a project grant application submitted by the City of McKinney for the construction of Eastside Airport infrastructure and passenger terminal elements.
* Project elements include taxiways, aprons, and other airport facilities necessary for continued growth of the airport.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* McKinney National Airport opened with a 4,000-foot runway in 1979 as McKinney Municipal Airport.
* Development of airport facilities, including the Air Traffic Control Tower, FBO terminal, hangars, and office space has taken place on the west side of the runway.
* In 2013, the City of McKinney purchased the Fixed Base Operation, which included several vertical assets (hangars and office space) as well as the assumption of fuel sales, aeronautical services, leases, and agreements at the airport.
* Since 2013, the airport has continued to grow with the construction of a new FBO terminal and additional ramp space and hangars.
