RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* Seeking approval to apply for grant funding from the FY2026 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Funding Program. This is the last application round of this funding program. Approximately $1 billion of funding has been made available with no more than 15% to be distributed to a single state.
* The city is seeking funding for projects identified in its soon-to-be finalized Safety Action Plan, Eldorado Road Safety Audit, and Valley Creek Elementary Safe Routes to School.
* If awarded, the funding will be used for improvements along Eldorado Parkway for lighting, signal upgrades and sidewalk/ramp upgrades. Funding would also be used for before-and-after evaluations, Road Safety Audits for Eldorado Parkway, Virginia Parkway, and University Drive, updating the Safety Action Plan public crash dashboard, and a pedestrian tunnel mural case study.
