RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $287,235, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with LJB, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the Gerrish Pump Station 18 Inch Waterline Replacement Project (WA2549), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $330,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Public Works performed an inspection of the existing 60-year-old 18 inch water line from the Gerrish Pump Station to College Street and determined it needed to be replaced from the eastern side of the DART railroad to College Street along Gerrish Street, Chestnut Street, East Graham Street, South Kentucky Street and across Finch Park.
* The City's consultant modeled the existing 18-inch water line and determined a 12-inch water line will support the area because of the extensive water line network in the area now compared to 1960's water line network.
* Public Works also determined that the segment of an 8 inch wastewater line on South Kentucky Street between Gerrish Street and Christian Street needs to be replaced along with the water line.

o Topographical survey, subsurface utility engineering, and geotechnical investigations as needed.
