RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Review and approve resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Based on points raised during meeting on February 20, 2026, when the Council discussed strategic priorities for the next fiscal year, the staff developed department-level objectives to support each of the Council’s higher-level priorities during FY27.

•    The process used to update department-level objectives included a series of exchanges and meetings with department directors, followed by several rounds of review. The final draft plan was reviewed by the Assistant City Managers and cleared to present to the City Council by the City Manager.

 

                     Staff is now bringing the proposed FY27 Strategic Goals, Strategies, and Objectives to the City Council for review.

                     

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City Council historically meets every year to review strategic goals.

                     On February 20, 2026, City Council met for this purpose, to prioritize the strategies.

                     The meeting was facilitated by a senior official from Strategic Government Resources (SGR).
