ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes award of a fixed price contract with AdWear & Specialty of Texas, Inc. of Houston, Texas and Squeegees Emporium of Allen, Texas for the purchase of uniforms and recreational clothing.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City issued Invitation to Bid 17-63FP Uniforms & Recreational Clothing on August 6, 2017.
• Thirteen (13) bids were received on August 24, 2017.
• An evaluation team comprised of six City employees from various departments reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:
o Price
o Reputation of the bidder(s) and of bidders’ goods and services verified through references
o Extent to which the goods or services meet the City’s needs
o Delivery time after receipt of order
• The evaluation team recommends awarding line items 1-23 and line item 28 to AdWear & Specialty of Texas, Inc. and Squeegees Emporium as the best value for the City.
• The evaluation team further recommends no award for line items 24-27 (Outerwear). These lines were not responded to by all vendors and bids submitted on these lines did not meet the City’s needs. These items will be awarded on a future informal solicitation per Chapter 11 of the City’s Purchasing Policy.
• Contract will commence on date of award and continue for a two (2) year period with three (3) one (1) year renewal options.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for these items is currently budgeted in various City department clothing accounts.
