RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the attached Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance amends the 2017-2018 annual CIP budget and the 2018-2022 Capital Improvements Program, by accepting $23,000 in donations from the McKinney Armed Services Memorial Board ($4,000 deposited in the Veterans Memorial Fund and $19,000 deposited in the Parks Construction Fund) and appropriating $23,000 in the Parks Construction Fund for CIP project PK1644 Gold Star Memorial.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Gold Star Memorial Project (PK1644) is a FY17-18 Capital Improvements Project funded in an amount of $170,000.
• The Armed Services Memorial Board collected pledges in fundraising efforts to be placed towards the cost of construction.
• The construction of the project is complete.
• A dedication to the Gold Star Memorial was held on December 16, 2017.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The amendment of the FY2017-2018 annual CIP Budget appropriates $23,000 in the Parks Construction Fund for PK1644 Gold Star Memorial ($4,000 from the Veterans Memorial Fund balance and $19,000 from the Parks Construction Fund balance).
