RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approve the Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     A City Council goal is to facilitate conditions needed for economic growth and resilience through the creation of a Global Housing Strategy

                     An understanding of current housing inventory, as well as project housing inventory needed to meet the needs of residents, is important to achieving this goal.

                     The Housing Needs Assessment will provide the information necessary for future City Council housing policy decisions.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     On July 21, 2020, Root Policy presented a draft of the Housing Needs Assessment to City Council.

                     The Housing Needs Assessment was finalized based on City Council direction.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The cost of the study was $55,000 and was budgeted in the FY20 Housing and Community Development Fund.
