RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approve the resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract with Terracon Consultants, Inc. to provide material testing services related to the construction of the Prestwyck Neighborhood Park, in the amount of $63,102.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Terracon Consultants, Inc. is a consulting engineering and construction materials testing firm serving the northern DFW communities. They have been selected from the City's approved vendor list for construction material testing services.

* The City employs the services of an engineering testing laboratory to observe the contractor's work by making certain inspections and to sample and test that the materials being used meet the plans and specifications.

* The 10 acre neighborhood park will include play equipment, splash pad, pavilion, sport-court, shade structures, off-street parking, learning stations, fitness stations, pedestrian connectivity and landscaping.

* In a concurrent agenda item, staff will also be bringing forward a recommendation to award a contract for construction of this project.
