RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution establishes a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $8,181,459 as proposed by Crossland Construction Company, Inc.
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment with Crossland Construction Company, Inc., the Construction Manager at Risk for McKinney Fire Station 11 located at 6260 Rundell Way, McKinney, Texas 75070.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The original agreement allowed for the GMP to be proposed after the completion of the design plans and bidding process.
• The construction documents were issued in August 2020 and have been advertised for bids by Crossland Construction Company, Inc.
• Crossland has compiled the bids and submitted a final Guaranteed Maximum Price for approval.
• With this approval, Crossland will be notified to begin construction with completion scheduled for January 2022.
• Crossland Construction Company, Inc. is ranked among the top 100 general contractors in the nation and is among the top 250 largest contractors in the world. Regardless of project size, Crossland offers a wide range of construction services and is one of the top general contractors in North Texas. They are a Prosper based firm and have successfully completed McKinney Fire Station 10, the Air Traffic Control Tower at McKinney National Airport along with other civic facility projects for other municipalities.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment to the existing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services contract, for construction services with Crossland Construction Company, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $8,181,459.
• Fire Station 11 was funded within the FY20-24 Capital Improvements Program with general obligation bonds and funds are currently available for this contract.
• Upon approval of this agenda item, $3,100,081 will remain in project FI1731.
