ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Advisory Board convened on three separate occasions in August and September of 2020. The content of the meetings, information gathered from the Board, and public engagement results have been compiled and provided on a public web page.

* Staff will present a brief synopsis of the research and comments gathered from the Throckmorton Statue Ad Hoc Advisory Board meetings, including a summary of submitted public comments.
* The Throckmorton Statue Ad Hoc Advisory Board will give two presentations. One will discuss the position of keeping the statue in place and the other will discuss the position of relocating the statue.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* In July 2020, the McKinney City Council approved a resolution establishing the Throckmorton Statue Ad Hoc Advisory Board.
* The purpose of the Ad Hoc Advisory Board is to:
o advise staff in performing expert research related to the context, appropriateness, and relevancy of the Throckmorton statue and
o ensure that the community is engaged in the discussion so that the City Council may be presented with thorough and balanced research and options regarding the statue and other cultural artifacts located on City-owned property.
