ITEM SUMMARY:

Collin County awarded the City of McKinney $6,889,619 to provide Emergency Housing and Living Assistance to residents of McKinney and surrounding areas affected by COVID-19

The grant funds expire on December 30, 2020, with any unspent funds due back to the County and United States Department of Treasury.

Due to slower than expected expenditure of funds, Collin County Commissioners

passed an Amended Interlocal Agreement asking the four cities who received Collin CARES EHLA grant funds to return $11,595,442 to the County to fund other programs benefitting McKinney and other County residents impacted by COVID.

As a result, McKinney’s allocation of funds has been reduced by $2,095,442 - from $6,889,619 to $4,794,177.
