RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services contract to provide architectural and engineering (A/E) services related to the design and construction of the East Louisiana Parking Lot (Project FC2117).
• Conduit Architecture + Design, LLC has submitted a proposal to provide professional architectural and engineering services for the East Louisiana Parking Lot (Project FC2117) for a lump sum fee of $102,350.
• There is a companion agenda item also included in this council session to amend the budget prior to approval of this item.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Conduit Architecture + Design, LLC is a professional architectural consulting firm based in McKinney and has been the architect of record on multiple successful City of McKinney projects including McKinney Fire Stations 9 and 10 and currently Fire Station No. 11.
• On February 10, 2018, the City of McKinney signed a resolution (2018-02-023R) approving pre-qualified firms to provide architectural and engineering services to the City of McKinney. Conduit Architecture + Design, LLC is one of the five architectural firms chosen to participate in the A/E vendor pool by RFQ 18-16RFQ for A/E Services for Multiple Projects in McKinney.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services contract for architectural and engineering services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with Conduit Architecture + Design, LLC for an amount not to exceed $112,350 which includes a contingency amount of $10,000.
• There is a companion agenda item also included in this council session to amend the budget prior to approval of this item.
• The budget for this project shall be created by transferring funds from TIRZ1 as approved at the January 5, 2021 TIRZ meeting and will include funding for the project’s Architectural and Engineering services.
