RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the attached Ordinance

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Ordinance amends expenditures in the FY2020-2021 Annual Budget and the 2021-2025 Capital Improvements Program by transferring $165,000 from the General Fund to the Technology Improvement Fund for the Fire Records Software Project (IT2120).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* In 2014 14-26RFQ was written for Professional Services to write specifications for an RFP to purchase new Fire Records Management software. The RFP was never distributed but as we have moved through the past six years, the Fire House software that is currently being utilized has become problematic in nature.
* In working with the vendor over the past year, it has been determined that the vendor has the intention to End of Life the current Fire House software package, therefore the intent of this item is to restart the professional services contract to clean up the specifications written in 2014 to current day and distribute an RFP to investigate new FRMS software.
* The previous engagement with the vendor expended $30,720 of that contracted amount before discontinuing the project.

* An accompanying Ordinance to execute a budget amendment pertaining to the Fire Records Software Project is also on this agenda for Council's consideration.
