ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a project grant application submitted by Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center (CCCAC) for site improvements including water, drainage and sanitary sewer for a new facility in McKinney.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission of CCCAC is to provide safety, healing and justice for children victimized by abuse and/or neglect in Collin County.

                     The Center houses Child Protective Services staff, law enforcement from jurisdictions, therapists, forensic interviewers and social workers who work together to meet the needs of children and families.

                     CCCAC has provided life-changing services since 1992 and has served more than 65,000 children and non-offending family members.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

                     Funds allocated for MCDC discretionary project grants for FY21 was $1,530,105.

                     Remaining FY21 funds for discretionary Project Grants is $865,667.44

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.
