RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes award of a construction contract with J & M Robertson, Inc. dba JMR Construction of McKinney, Texas for the Rehabilitation of 208 S. Bradley Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.

                     Rehabilitation is for a low-income elderly household living in substandard conditions.

                     Owner occupied home located West of Highway 5 and South of Downtown.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City issued an Invitation to Bid (21-65CC) for the Rehabilitation of 208 S. Bradley Street on August 8, 2021.

o                     Advertised in the McKinney Courier Gazette and Celina Record

o                     Posted on McKinney TV

o                     1,126 matching eBid supplier notifications which included 46 HUB suppliers.

                     Out of 1,126 supplier notifications, three (3) bids were received on August 26, 2021. The following is a summary of the bids:

                     The bids were reviewed by the Housing Inspector to ensure all requirements met the needs and standards listed in the Invitation to Bid.

                     A.A.M. & Associates, LLC was not a Lead Certified Contractor which was a requirement outlined in the solicitation.

                     J & M Robertson, Inc. dba JMR Construction met all requirements and were the second low bid in the amount of $99,343.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funding is currently budgeted in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fund 017, account 017-1703-463-8516.

                     This Resolution authorizes a contract and all necessary change orders with J & M Robertson, Inc. dba JMR Construction for an amount not to exceed $109,277.30.
