CITY COUNCIL RECOMMENDED ACTION: 

                     Receive staff’s presentation and provide direction to staff.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     On October 19th, a McKinney resident requested that the City allow Miniature Swine as pets in the City’s corporate limits.

 

                     Staff will be presenting information pertaining to McKinney’s current regulations, the regulations of other nearby cities, and potential ordinance amendments.

 

                     In 2009, the City of McKinney adopted amendments to Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances that expressly prohibited the keeping of Potbellied pigs (Miniature Swine).
