CITY COUNCIL RECOMMENDED ACTION: 

•                     Receive staff’s presentation and provide direction to staff.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

•                     On October 19th, a McKinney resident requested that the City allow Miniature Swine as pets in the City’s corporate limits.

 

•                     Staff will be presenting information pertaining to McKinney’s current regulations, the regulations of other nearby cities, and potential ordinance amendments.

 

•                     In 2009, the City of McKinney adopted amendments to Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances that expressly prohibited the keeping of Potbellied pigs (Miniature Swine).
