RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with Studio Outside Landscape Architecture, to provide planning and landscape architectural services to renovate E.A. Randles Park located at 5400 Cedar Elm Drive.
• E.A. Randles Park is listed in the current Parks Master Plan as one of the recommended 10 parks in need of refreshing and renovating and was recently master planned in 2020.
• The list of possible renovations includes a new play structure, splash pad, pavilion, refurbished basketball court, ADA accessibility, new parking, irrigation improvements, entry signage, and site furnishings, which are all reflected in the above-mentioned approved master plan.
• This agenda item will provide recommendation to city council on December 21st 2021.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Studio Outside was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
• Studio Outside has provided landscape architectural services for other park projects which include George Webb Park and the softball fields at Gabe Nesbitt Park.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Park Renovations (PK1831) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC funds, bond monies and parkland dedication contributions.
