RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• LJA Engineering recently completed the master plan for this park, which is attached. Based upon their master plan design and quality of work, they were requested to provide design and construction administration services for the completion of the project.
• During the master planning process, which consisted of public input via an online survey, a master plan was developed that provides the park with amenities such as:
o Play structure
o Walking paths
o Boardwalk
o Shade structure
o Parking lot
• We received 755 survey responses and the completed master plan reflects the comments and preferences from an overwhelming majority of respondents.
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with LJA Engineering, to provide design and construction administration services for the McKinney Greens Park.
• This item is scheduled for City Council consideration on December 21st.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• LJA Engineering was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
• They have provided quality work on various other parks projects including the Craig Ranch Soccer Complex Field Renovation and Prestwyck Park.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This project (PK2109) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC funds.
