RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with J.C. Commercial, Inc. of Lewisville, Texas for the construction of the Mary Will Craig Improvement Project (PK1831- Park Updates) for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,698,064.42.
* City staff worked with Dunaway and Associates, Inc. on preparing the construction plans and specifications as needed for project bidding.
* Staff, along with Dunaway and Associates, Inc. support and recommend awarding the construction bid to J.C. Commercial, Inc. in an amount of $2,573,064.42 along with a $125,000 contingency for a total not to exceed amount of $2,698,064.42. (Includes base bid + add alternate 1 and 2 + contingency).
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Mary Will Craig Park improvements will include a new expanded playground and skate spot area with a centralized basketball court, updated baseball diamond, additional track and trail loop, entry signage, improved flat work, new landscaping, new pavilion, and site furnishings.
* The project was bid with 2 possible add alternates.
