RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution establishes the times for the reduced speed school zones at the follow school for the 2022 summer school sessions:
? Caldwell Elementary School
? Faubion Middle School
* McKinney Independent School District will hold in-person summer school at school campuses within McKinney.
* The summer session at Caldwell Elementary School will begin June 6, 2022 and will end June 24, 2022. School will be in session from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.
* The summer session at Faubion Middle School will begin June 6, 2022 and will end June 24, 2022. School will be in session from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.
* For arrival, the reduced speed school zone will be effective beginning 45 minutes before the beginning of the summer session for the day and end 15 minutes after the beginning of school. For dismissal, the reduced speed school zone will be effective 15 minutes before the dismissal of the summer session for the day and will end 45 minutes after dismissal of school. The active times for the summer school speed zones are consistent with the durations used during the regular school year.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* In 2003, the City Council adopted an Ordinance that provides a process to establish a reduced speed school zone for summer school sessions.
