RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes an award of a fixed price contract with Aqua Bore, LLC of Terrell, Texas for as needed directional water line boring services, used to install water pipe in residential areas.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City issued Invitation to Bid 22-37FP, Boring Services on April 10, 2022.

o                     Advertised in McKinney Courier Gazette

o                     Posted on McKinney TV

o                     1,052 matching eBid supplier notifications

o                     43 Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Vendors were notified

 

                     In response to all notices published, two (2) bids were received on April 28, 2022.

 

                     An evaluation team comprised of staff from Water Utilities reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:

o                     40% Purchase Price

o                     35% Response Time

o                     25% Bidder’s Personnel & Equipment List

 

                     The evaluation team recommends Aqua Bore, LLC of Terrell, Texas as the best value for the city.

 

                     Contract will commence on date of award and continue for a three (3) year period.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Estimated annual spend for this contract award is $50,000.

 

                     Funding is budgeted in Water Utilities account 003-8205-503-8516.
