ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager into an Interlocal Agreement with Frisco Independent School District (FISD) to provide school crossing guards at FISD school campuses.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* In 2002, a Crossing Guard Program was developed to establish paid crossing guards at intersections determined by the City of McKinney for McKinney Independent School District school campuses. An Interlocal Agreement was developed between the City of McKinney and McKinney ISD to provide the terms and conditions.
* In 2006, Frisco Independent School District (FISD) opened its first campus in McKinney. FISD requested implementation of the same City of McKinney Crossing Guard Program for its school campuses located in McKinney.
* In the corporative agreement Frisco ISD will hire, equip, and train the crossing guards, while the City of McKinney will reimburse Frisco ISD for the associated cost for placement for the crossing guards at intersections designated by the McKinney Engineering Department.
* This Interlocal Agreement is a one-year agreement with an additional five (5) one-year annual renewals with no action necessary by either governing body. The number and location of the crossing guards may change annually as new school campuses or neighborhoods are added.
