RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes an amendment to the professional services contract to provide additional architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the McKinney Municipal Service Center - North Campus located at 3501 North Central Expressway, McKinney, Texas 75071.
• The selected consultant team, Quorum Architects, Inc., submitted a proposal to provide professional architectural design and engineering services for an additional 2,000 square foot space originally shown to be future space in the McKinney Municipal Service Center - North Campus for $15,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Quorum Architects, Inc. is an award winning professional architectural consulting services firm based in Fort Worth, Texas, that specializes in public architecture with an emphasis on public works projects.
• On February 10, 2018, the City of McKinney signed a resolution (2018-02-023R) approving pre-qualified firms to provide architectural and engineering services to the City of McKinney. Quorum Architects, Inc. is one of the five architectural firms chosen to participate in the A/E vendor pool by RFQ 18-16RFQ for A/E Services for various projects for the City of McKinney.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an amendment to the professional services contract for architectural and engineering services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with Quorum Architects, Inc. for an additional amount of $15,000. The original not to exceed amount of $546,900 plus $15,000 for the additional 2,000 square feet makes a new NTE of $561,900.
• Upon approval of this item and the companion item for the MMSC-NC project, $38,865 will remain in Project FC2058.
