RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of the Resolution and Agreement

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with DFW Airport to provide Aircraft Rescue and Firefighter Training (ARFF) consistent with FAA requirements.

                     This Interlocal Agreement will become effective immediately upon its signing, and continue indefinitely until terminated by one of the parties.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The McKinney Fire Department provides emergency response as needed for aircraft in and around McKinney National Airport and Aero Country Airport.

                     DFW Airport Department of Public Safety is the only FAA-recognized provider for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training in the vicinity that meets the needs of the MFD for initial ARFF certification and aircraft live fire training.

                     This Agreement is required for participation in the training activities. 

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Training fees and costs will be provided through the established MFD operational budget, 001-3224-423.85-06.
