RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Ordinance amends the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Annual Budget and the 2023-2027 Capital Improvements Program to provide funding for Professional and Construction services for the McKinney Municipal Complex Project (FC1707) in the amount of $8,520,000 and appropriates the transfer of TIRZ1 bond funding to the respective City funds.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* In 2008, due to growth of the City and widespread City facilities the decision was made to pursue construction of a new municipal complex.
* In a companion agenda items, a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract and a Construction Materials Observation, Engineering and Testing services contract is being recommended for the McKinney Municipal Complex Project.
* In Fiscal Year 2021-2022 the TIRZ1 fund issued $15,520,000 in bonds for the purposes of the construction of a new city hall and related street and utility improvements. In addition to adding funding to the McKinney Municipal Complex Project (FC1707), this agenda item also appropriates the transfer of the TIRZ1 bond funding to the respective City construction funds.
