RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     Appoint Animal Services Officer Ashley Thompson (city staff) as a Regular member of the ASFAC for partial term effective this date until September 30, 2024.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

                     The ASFAC serves to assist animal shelters located within the city with compliance with Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 823.

                     In accordance with City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 26, Section 26-50, the ASFAC must be comprised of at least four members, including at least one:

o                     Licensed veterinarian,

o                     Municipal official,

o                     Person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter, and

o                     Representative of an animal welfare organization
