RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Ordinance amends the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Annual Budget and the 2023-2027 Capital Improvements Program by appropriating $234,000 from the Airport Construction Fund balance to Project AI2119, Airport Long Range Planning.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Airport Master Plan recommends multiple projects in its short-, mid-, and long- term development programs to meet projected future demand. Planning efforts to properly prepare for anticipated projects and accommodate future growth require the airport to develop probable development alternatives, cost estimates, and financial analysis for projects that will serve to maximize the development potential of McKinney National Airport. This Ordinance provides the required funds to ensure the feasibility and constructability of projects proposed in the McKinney National Airport Master Plan.

* The proposed budget amendment allocates the necessary funding from the Airport Construction Fund balance to the project to continue only those professional services necessary prior to the May 6th election on the bond referendum.

* Additional services, including the schematic design of the commercial terminal and related infrastructure have been paused until the results of the election are known.
