RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes award of a fixed price contract with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, of Akron, Ohio for the Purchase and Delivery of Tires.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The purpose of this contract is to provide the Fleet Department with the ability to obtain tires under a fixed price contract on an as needed basis.

 

                     The City issued Invitation to Bid 23-14FP, Purchase and Delivery of Tires on January 29, 2023.

o                     Advertised in McKinney Courier Gazette

o                     Posted on McKinney TV

o                     Thirty (30) matching eBid supplier notifications which included three (3) Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) suppliers

 

                     In response to all notices published, three (3) bids were received on February 16, 2023, from the following suppliers:

o                     Southern Tire Mart, LLC

o                     The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company

o                     Thomason Tire, Inc.

 

                     An evaluation team comprised of City staff, reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:

 

o                     40 Points - Purchase Price

o                     40 Points - Bidder’s Ability to Meet the City’s Needs

o                     20 Points - Reputation of the Bidder and of the Bidder’s Goods or Services Verified through Reference Checks

 

                     The evaluation team recommends The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as the best value for the City. 

 

                     Contract shall commence on date of award and continue for a two (2) year period.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funding for these services is budgeted in account 002-9999-603-8415.
