RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a supplemental agreement with BGE, Inc. for additional professional consulting engineering services for the Eldorado and Custer Intersection / Bridge Improvements Project (ST1838) for an increase in the not to exceed from $490,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $570,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* BGE, Inc. is currently under contract with the City for professional consulting engineering services related to the Eldorado and Custer Intersection / Bridge Improvements Project (ST1838).
* The project includes widening of Eldorado Parkway from a 4-lane to a 6-lane divided roadway from Custer Road to east of Rowlett Creek, widening of the existing bridge, bridge repair work and intersection enhancements.
* Due to unknown utility conflicts encountered during construction phase of the traffic signal foundation at the northeast corner of Eldorado Parkway and Custer Road, the following additional services will be required which were not included in the original contract:
o Level A Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigation services to verify the new location for the traffic signal foundation is clear of utilities.
o Coordination efforts with City of Frisco and TxDOT to finalize the proposed signal location.
