ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for McKinney National Airport Project AI2459, Texas Department of Public Safety Facility.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* House Bill No. 1, General Appropriations Act, Eighty-Eighth Legislature includes an appropriation for the Department of Transportation of $5,000,000 for the purpose of funding a hangar facility project at the McKinney National Airport for use by the Department of Public Safety.
* The proposed scope of work will consist primarily of the design and construction of a 12,000 square foot hangar and support offices for the Texas Department of Public Safety Region 1.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The funding from TxDOT will come in the form of a hangar rider with a 90%/10% split. TxDOT will provide reimbursement of $5,000,000 of project expenses and the City of McKinney will be responsible for the 10% match of $555,555.
* A $600,000 transfer from the Airport Operating Fund to project AI2459 to cover the match is included in the FY23 EOY budget plan for adoption in September.
* All cost over the $5,000,000 will be 100% the responsibility of the City of McKinney.
